James Kirby III,
Fort Pierce

James "Jim" Alfred Kirby III, 60, died April 3, 2005, in Fort Pierce.

He was a native of Fort Pierce.

During his life, he was associated with Florida's State Road Dept. in Fort Pierce; the city of Fort Pierce; Weaverly J. Ray and Associates of Jacksonville; O.V. DeShula and Metropolitan Aerial Survey in Texas.

He was an active genealogist, enjoyed bowling and served with the Fort Pierce Jaycees. He was active in the Swine Sales at the St. Lucie County Fair.

He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps.

He served on the board of White City Cemetery and was a member of the B.P.O.E. No. 1520.

Survivors include his daughters, Claudia Jean Kirby Webb of Vernon and Jeneed Marie Kirby of Fort Pierce; son, Phillips Gladwin Kirby of Fort Pierce; mother of his children, Joan Howell Kirby of Fort Pierce; mother, Marijean Kirby of Fort Pierce; sister, Marion Jean "Jeannie" McKinney of Fort Pierce; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bunky Kirby.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. April 8 at Yates Funeral Home in Fort Pierce. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. with Cecil Lane officiating
